End of Month Report

The End of Month report is designed to combine all aspects of an End-of-Day/Month/Year procedure into one update across the stock file. The program looks at all part numbers in the stock file and updates the following fields on the stock record:

  1. Date last max/min
  2. Demand since
  3. Average demand
  4. Lowest (min & date)
  5. Highest (max & date)
  6. Non-stock item
  7. Re-order category

This report is normally run, and an update performed, by a Timed Operation. However, if a printout of the End of Month process is required during the month, this is achieved by running the End of month report option from the SM REPORTS AND ENQUIRIES menu, when no update is performed.

Note: This report automatically stops being an update report when displayed by running from a menu option. This needs to be run in End of Day to run in update mode.

On the End of Month report, the description is amended to show a signal code which is a number, or combination of numbers, between 1 and 9 (for example 1, 2, 6). These signal codes mean:

  1. Exceptional demand (defined in the system parameter Excess demand)

  2. Sporadic demand (defined in the system parameter Sporadic period)

  3. Stock record on file for less than #### days (defined in the system parameter Days before calculation)

  4. Seasonal item (defined in the system parameter Seasonal part cat)

  5. Blocked part

  6. Non-stock item

  7. Part offered for return by another dealer

  8. New forecast calculated as less than 1 but minimum stock set to 1

  9. Predecessor (part superseding a previous part) where the previous part still has stock on-hand

  10. Negative stock balance
