The notes facility allows you to load customer notes onto a WIP as a text line with a labour type code of T (Text), and display customer notes. This is especially useful for taking service bookings over the phone.
Each text line can hold a maximum of 6 lines of text, and 70 characters per line. For each six lines of text that you enter via the notes facility, the system creates an additional text line on the WIP.
Note: For customer notes, the line is loaded onto the WIP using the RTS code identified in the RTS Code to save notes field on the Fastrack tab of the Point-of-Sale parameters.
To create text lines:
Access the Point-of-Sale WIP.
Click the icon on the toolbar.
Tip: Alternatively, select the Notes option from the Tools menu.
The Customer Notes in Edit Mode form is displayed.
Enter a description for the text line(s).
Click the Load to Wip button.
For each 6 lines of text, a text line with a labour type code of T is created on the WIP.
The Customer Notes in Edit Mode form is displayed when you click the icon on the toolbar in Point-of-Sale, or when you select the Notes option from the Tools menu. From this form you can enter the customer notes to be loaded onto the WIP as a text line, or display customer notes.
The form contains a text box. In edit mode, you can enter the customer notes in this text box to be loaded onto the WIP as a text line. In display mode, this text box is disabled.
Tip: To add extra text to text lines loaded onto the WIP, double-click the Line field of the text line.
The form is split in two sections: Printed and Not printed. This allows you to determine which text is printed on documents.
Printed: In this section, enter any text that you want to be printed on documents.
Not printed: In this section, enter any text that you do not want to appear on documents. Use the TAB key to move the cursor to this section.
PUSH BUTTONS:
Load to Wip: Loads the text line(s) onto the WIP with a labour type code of T. This button is disabled when text lines are added to the WIP, so you can subsequently only display customer notes.
