This option is used to remove old labour transactions from the labour log file. Records are deleted according to the number of days retention specified in the Parts log retention field on the Main detail tab of the SM system parameters. The program is normally run by a Timed Operation. The program should only be run manually if advised to do so by support.
To manually consolidate the labour log:
Warning: This option is not normally run during the day because it is run by a Timed Operation.
The POINT OF SALE menu is displayed.
Select the System maintenance option.
The SO SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.
Select the Consolidate labour log option.
The Consolidate Labour Logfile form is displayed.
Click the Consolidate button.
You will get one of the following results:
If the consolidation is successful, the system consolidates the file and rebuilds the index. You are returned to the SO SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.
If the system is unable to perform the consolidation, you may get one of the following messages:
Labour archive index/data area full
(The file XX.SO.larch is full)
Text lines archive index/data area full
(The file XX.SO.tarch is full)
[Number] duplicates
(This error occurs if a duplicate key for a record is identified when archiving labour/text)
The Consolidate Labour Logfile form is displayed when you select the Consolidate labour log option from the SO SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu. From this form you can consolidate the labour log file.
Cut-off date: Enter a cut-off date. All labour log file transactions older than the date specified here are set to be archived and deleted, if they fall outside of the retention periods.
Tip: Click the Ellipsis button
to display an electronic calendar.
PUSH BUTTONS:
Exit: Returns you to the SO SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.
Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
Consolidate: Deletes transactions that are older than the cut-off date, if they fall outside of the retention periods.
