There is a warranty parameter called Light validation. It enables the system to accept less information on a valid claim in places such as Point of Sale. It allows a cost clerk with little knowledge of warranty procedures, to complete and invoice a claim.
The settings for the light validation are normally shown on the Other Tab of the Warranty Parameters.
The requirements for a valid warranty claim when you use light validation normally include the following:
Complete VIN/chassis number from the vehicle's marketing record (17 characters, all numeric)
Vehicle model code
Condition code
