General Tab

The fields of the General tab are explained below:

• Company - The company involved in the communication (**) is always a default.
• Communication type - This is the communication type. Most of the types are fixed names. They will be explained later.
• Description - The description of this communication type
• Transfer type - Which protocol build in can be used.
• Transfer from - Whether the communication takes place from the Server or the Client
• Job control header/trailer - In countries like Holland, job control has to be sent to the Mainframes as well to start the job involved in the file. Therefore something should be added to the top of the file and also something to the bottom. On the job control tab page the lines that must be added can be specified.
• Delete after receive - Delete the remote file after successful receipt.
• Remote directory - The remote directory is the place where the file will be stored or retrieved from.
• Remote filename - The remote filename is the filename the file will be stored or received under.

  In order to make more use of generic types, you can use special commands in filenames and commands, to get the filenames and commands right.

  • %dd Day or month,
  • %mm Month of the year,
  • %cc Century,
  • %dn Daynumber of the year,
  • %yy Current year,
  • %hh Current hour,
  • %MM Current minute,
  • %ss Current second,
  • %jd Julian day number,
  • ^COM Company number,
  • [..] Parameter value.
• Keep in archive - Enter the number of days the request has to be saved in the archive after it has been transmitted.
• Send e-mail if NOK - Tick when an e-mail has to be sent when the transmission has not been succesfully.
• Transmit immediately - Tick when yopu want to transmit the request after it has been created.
• Specific Franchise code - Enter the special franchise codes, when applicable.

  Note: The Franchise Code is only used in the Vehicle Tracking program.
