The POS department parameters define the settings for the functionality for populating the default values on a parts or labour line is used for the selected SO company / department, the setting to suppress the part not found in stock message and create the stock file record automatically from the price file record, and the settings to drive the display of the special price selection window for;
You need to set up the POS department parameters per department. When selecting the POS company, all departments for which a POS department parameter record is available are displayed.
What do you want to do?
This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to Service > + POS department parameters > [no. Company name] on the Project parameters browser. It defines the settings for the display of special prices in Point-of-Sales.
Fields:
Department code: Select the department that is available for the POS company concerned.

Initial Values:
Active default values: Select to activate the default values for parts or labour lines. The populating of default values on a parts or labour line is used for the selected SO company / department and the [Repair volume id - Warranty code+suffix - Menu code] button above the Point-of-Sale grid is made available.
Default warranty code: Select the default warranty code, if required.
Default warranty suffix: Select the default warranty suffix, if required.
Default menu code: Select the default menu code, if required.
Default customer concern type: Select the default customer concern type to use when adding a customer concern to the WiP. The Concern type field on the Extra Text form is populated with, one of:
Unassigned: No customer concern type assigned.
1 Customer request
2 Complaint
3 Maintenance
Tip: Via the New product ellipsis button for Customer concern on the Point-of-Sale form you can access the Extra Text form to add a Customer concern to the WiP.
Validation settings:
Warranty / menu code validations: Select the state of warranty and menu code validation.
No validation (default): The warranty and menu code are not validated.
1 Warranty code mandatory: The user is obligated to enter the warranty code.
2 Menu code mandatory: The user is obligated to enter the menu code.
3 Both mandatory: The user is obligated to enter the warranty and menu code.
4 Warning on missing W-code: Displays a warning when the warranty code is not filled.
5 Warning on missing menu code: Displays a warning when the menu code is not filled.
6 Warning for both: Displays a warning when the warranty and/or menu code are not filled.
Repair volume assignment: Select how to validate the assignment of the repair volume, this field is available when the repair volume function is set up. During validation a message is displayed when not all lines are assigned to repair volume upon saving the WIP or selection the print option for the WIP. Confirming the message to correct the repair volume assignment via the Mercedes-Benz WiP form.
No validation (default): User is not informed that a repair volume is required.
1 Assignment mandatory: Enforce the assignment of a repair volume id to all WIP lines.
2 Warning on missing assignment: Warn users when not all lines are assigned to a repair volume.
Message settings:
When adding a part to a WIP in POS, either manually or via interfaces (EPC/EWANET/Webparts/e-Tail/Star Network) the message, that the part is not found in stock, is displayed for parts which exist in the price file but does not exist in the stock file. The user can choose to either Create from price file or Re enter the part. With the Create from Price file message parameter it is possible suppress this message and create the stock file record automatically from the price file record.
Create from Price file message: Select the behavior of the Create from price file message.
No special action (default): The message is standard displayed, the function is not in use.
1 Suppress message when from interface EPC/EWANET/Webparts/e-Tail/Star Network: Use this to not display the message when adding parts on the WIP via the interfaces. The stock file record is automatically created from the price file record.
2 Suppress message when manually entered in POS: Use this to not display the message when manually adding parts on the WIP. The stock file record is automatically created from the price file record.
3 Suppress both (1 and 2): Use this to not display the message when adding parts on the WIP. The stock file record is automatically created from the price file record.
Exchange parts:
These exchange parts parameters is only used for parts which Price file code parameter is set to MB - Mercedes Benz on the Details tab on the Franchise Table form.
Default action exchange part: Select the default process button on the Exchange part form.

Reminder status WIP line: Select the WIP line reminder order status for the dirty part. An order status of M will be used as the default, if the parameter is left empty.
/70 part creation from EWA net: Select to automatically load the /70 part on a WIP when a exchange part is loaded via the EPC.
If a part is added to a WIP normally the Select price on offer form is displayed when a valid special price is found. The calculated Normal net price displays either the stock price or, if valid, the calculated contract price. The Select price on offer form is suppressed by the parameters for the Special price screen handling and the parts price is set according to the setup in the parameters.
Special Prices Selection Handling:
Enable special prices from stock file: Select if the special prices from the stock file are used.
No special action (default): The Select price on offer form is displayed. The special prices are used as per standard functionality.
Y Special prices enabled: Use special prices from the stock file, the Select price on offer form is displayed. The special prices are used in combination with the Display selection screen special price/contract price and Leading price parameters.
N Special prices disabled: The special prices from the stock file are not used.
Display selection screen special price/contract price: Select the minimum user priority, to manually select special prices. In case a priority is selected, the Leading price field is mandatory. If No special action (default) is selected, the Leading price parameter is set to No special action (default) as well.
No special action (default): The user priority and the leading price setting depend to each other. If one the fields contains a special action, the other field cannot have the value No special action (default).
1 Priority 1: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
2 Priority 2: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
3 Priority 3: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
4 Priority 4: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
5 Priority 5: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
6 Priority 6: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
7 Priority 7: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
8 Priority 8: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
9 Priority 9: The minimum user priority a user requires handling the special prices from stock.
Leading price: Select which price is required, when the user priority is lower than the Display selection screen special price/contract price parameter. Prices are populated directly without displaying the Select price on offer form.
No special action (default): The user priority and the leading price setting depend to each other. If one the fields contains a special action, the other field cannot have the value No special action (default).
C Contract price: Use the Contract price.
L Lowest (calculated) price: Use the Lowest (calculated) price.
Note: Click the Save button to validate the fields. The message Invalid combination of parameters. Records not saved. is displayed, when the values in the fields are not correct. Click OK to revert the parameter record into Amend mode.
Before you can setup the parameters for a POS company, you need to add department codes per company.
To add a new department:
Click New or the icon.
The POS Department Parameters form is displayed.
Click Amend, enter Department code and complete the parameters fields concerned.
Click Save, to save your changes.
Your parameter record is represented as a parameter element in the browser, with the Department code appended.
You amend a department if you need to change the parameters for some reason.
To amend a department:
Click the Department code element that represents the settings you want to change.
The POS Department Parameters form is displayed for the Department code you selected.
Click Amend and make the changes.
Click Save, to save your changes.
If it is necessary to delete a department, proceed as follows.
To delete a department:
Click the Department code element that represents the parameters you want to delete.
The POS Department Parameters form is displayed.
Click Amend.
The Delete button is available.
Click Delete.
You are prompted to confirm deletion.
Click OK to delete the settings.
The record is deleted and the parameter element is removed from the browser.
