The Insert menu

The Insert menu contains a number of options to create new Communication types and requests. All options are explained below.

New Request

The New Request option enables you to create a new Communication request. Usually Communication requests are created by the software. For example, when a stockorder is submitted, the request to send the stockorder is created during the submission of the stockorder. Sometimes it is necessary to create a communication request manualy, in that case the New Request option must be selected from the Insert menu.

All the fields on the Communication Request tab are explained below.

Type - The type of request that is used for the defaults.
Company - This is the company that was involved in the communication.
e-mail - This is the e-mail address that was contacted about the communication.
Filename - Name of the file that has to be transmitted.
Remote directory - When applicable, enter the remote directory.
Remote filename - When applicable, enter the remote filename.
Wait on local file - When applicable, enter the filename for which has to waited.
Try after time - When applicable, enter the time after which the request must be sent.
Try before time - When applicable, enter the try before time.
When O/D/1-7 - Enter the time the file has to be transmitted.
Day of month - Field cannot be entered.
Days to wait before - Field cannot be entered.
Message - Field cannot be entered.

Complete the request by selecting the OK button or transmit the request by selecting the Transmit button.

New Type

Before you can send a request, the Communication Type must be know on the Communication Type tab. The Communication Type contains al defaults that are necessary to send the request. To add a new Communication Type, select the New Types option from the Insert menu.

The Communication Types screen is opened. All fields on the tabs are explained in the links below.

Complete all the fields on the Communication Type and save the type by selecting the OK button.

Insert Default types

Some Communication Types have been set as a default, this still means that you have to check the default value's before you want to use them!

To create the default communication types, you must:

Select the Default Types option from the Insert menu.
The Creation of default communication types screen is opened.
Enter the 3 digit dealer code for the name of the file that is send and enter for what company you want to create the default communication types.
Select the OK button to create the default types.
All types can be completed on the Communication Types tab.

Convert Old communication types

If the old communication program is available, this menu option converts the types to the new communication types. This saves a lot of keying. In case the old file is not available, this menu option will not be available.
