As explained before, Smart vehicles built before the year 2003 have two chassis numbers, a so-called 'Smart' chassis number (VIN) and a 'Mercedes-Benz' chassis number (FIN).
Since Autoline can only handle one chassis number, a mapping table is created which contains both chassis numbers, a convert routine is written which can search the correct matching other chassis number from the mapping table and a program has been created to upload the mapping file and store it in the Autoline mapping table.
Autoline offers you three ways to convert the 'Smart' chassis number to 'Mercedes-Benz' chassis numbers. All three methods are explained.
