Superseding Open WIP Lines

The Supersede open WIP lines function enables checking for supersessions on urgently needed parts that are on existing workshop orders.

Note: This can however only be done for those parts that are yet picked or invoiced.

Supersede Open Order Lines Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Supersede open WIP lines > if applicable, Select company > Operator

Note: The Supersede open WIP lines is unavailable, if no company is selected in the Use MB supersessions parameter.

Menu Bar and Toolbar:

Menu bar Toolbar Action
File > Exit Exit.gif Exit the supersede open order lines function.
File > Operator Change selected operator.

Supersessions > Supersede all VehicleSales.gif Processes all supersessions for open WIP lines.
Supersessions > Supersede single Export.gif Process single supersession for open WIP lines.

Tools > Status codes

Display status codes.
Tools > View log file Reports.gif View the supersession log file.

Help > Help Help2.gif Displays this help topic in a web browser.
Help > About Displays version information about this function.

Supersession details:

Ordered part number: Defines the part number and description of the part that has been ordered.

Supplied number: Defines the part number, description and quantity of the part supersedes the ordining part.

Note: Depending on the Supersession code type in use parameter, the Standard Autoline condition code or the Mercedes-Benz condition code is displayed.

Open order Lines per WIP for the selected part number:

Best Hit: Select to indicate that the replacement parts are defined as based on the standard supersession logic as used within Point-of-Sales using the parts as available in the supersession chain.

Grid:

WIP number Defines the Order Work in Progress task.

Line Defines the line within the WIP order for the part.

Quantity Defines the quantity of the part ordered.

Order status: The status of the WIP order.

Grid Shortcut Menu:

Right-click on a gridline displays the shortcut menu.

Progress:

Progress: A progress scale, depicting the progression status.

Button:

Supersession chain: Displays Supersession chain form for the selected part. This button becomes available when the Best Hit field is selected.

Supersede All

  1. Clicking the Supercede all VehicleSales.gif toolbar processes and supercedes all of the open WIP transactions in the grid.

Supersede Single

  1. Clicking the Supercede Single Export.gif toolbar processes and supercedes only the selected open WIP transaction within the grid.

Status Codes

  1. Clicking the Status codes toolbar button displays the Valid status codes form.

Valid Status Codes Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Supersede open WIP lines > Select company > Operator > Status codes toolbar button.

Status code: Displays the WIP status code.

Description: Displays the WIP status code description, for example:

Button:

OK: Returns back to the Supersede Open Order Lines form.

View Log File

  1. Clicking the View log file Reports.gif toolbar button displays the SupersedeOpenOrderLine.LOG form.

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Supersede open WIP lines > Select company > Operator > View log Reports.gif toolbar button.

Log file Audit Summary

A log report of every supersession transaction processed, detailing

User Identifier

Date and Time of supersession

Open WIP number processed

Original Part number

New superseding part number

Button:

Close: Returns back to the Supersede Open Order Lines form.

Print: Print the Supersede Open Order Line log file to the local printer.
