Creating an Estimate

Most estimates are created on various external subsystems and made available for 'export' but estimates can be created within the Bodyshop Estimating module, using the Estimate Maintenance option.

To create an estimate:

  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Bodyshop estimating interface option and Company required.

    The BODYSHOP ESTIMATING main menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Estimate maintenance option.

    The Estimate maintenance form is displayed.

  3. Select File from the menu bar and then select the New option or, click on the Create new estimate icon File new.

    The Create Estimate form is displayed.

  4. Complete the Mandatory Information group fields as required.

  5. click the Create button and the details are entered into the Estimate Maintenance form.

Create Estimate Form

Following are the fields required to be completed when creating an estimate:

Mandatory Information:

Estimate Number: This is supplied and inserted by the BE system.

Policy Number: Insurance company Policy number for Insured.

Claim Number: Insurance company Claim number

Deductable Amount: Amount to be deducted for Betterment

POS Operator: Operator responsible for processing the estimate

Optional Information:

Tip: Use the Ellipsis button [...] to select the appropriate date for the following fields:

Date of Accident: Supplied by the Insurance company.

Date Arrived at Bodyshop: Complete as appropriate.

Date Estimate Requested: Complete as appropriate.

Date Estimate Needed: Complete as appropriate.

On completion of estimate details which should include vehicle, driver, parts and labour details, select File > Save from the menu bar or click the Save icon.
