Rebuild Booking Summary

Warning: This option is normally used by a consultant when the software is installed. It must not be used by users without advice from an ADP consultant.

The booking summary occupies the centre of the Reservations form and it is automatically rebuilt during normal operation of the system. If the settings for the shared memory table are amended, or if errors occur, it may require a full manual rebuild. This requires the Vehicle Rentals module for the selected company to be in standalone mode along with the Marketing company that serves the Vehicle Rentals company.

The area of concern for rebuilding the booking summary during a working day is that it is necessary for the system to lock several system files which are probably in use by other people. Do not rebuild the summary unless advised to do so by ADP support staff.

To rebuild the booking summary:

  1. From the Master Menu, select the Vehicle rentals option and Company required.

The VEHICLE RENTALS menu is displayed.

  2. Select System maintenance option.

The VEHICLE RENTAL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Rebuild booking summary option.

The Rebuild Booking Summary form is displayed.

Rebuild Booking Summary form

The Rebuild Booking Summary form is displayed when the Rebuild booking summary option is selected from the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.

Upon entering the form carry out the following actions:

  1. Select the Execute button.

  2. The booking summary is rebuilt.

Warning: If a booking summary rebuild is unavoidable then the system prompts if a required file is locked (for example, Unable to open file 73.DR.books). Software Support can then offer guidance as to whether the file is being used by someone else before it is unlocked. The Reset in use flags option may be used to unlock the necessary files; however, on no account should users try to unlock files without guidance from ADP Software Support.

COMMAND BUTTONS:
