Front Page is an alternative to the classic Master Menu format. Using the Front Page format, which is also referred to as 'modern', you can create your own desktop arrangement with personalised shortcut icons, as well as accessing all options via a hierarchical tree displayed on the left-hand side of the form.
Note: Because Front Page is configurable, Autoline help files are generally written with the assumption that you are using 'classic mode' and therefore navigating with the use of static menus.
This form is split into two main sections:
System: Displays the tree menu for accessing all modules and programs.
DeskTop: Displays icons for commonly used programs. Different icons are displayed depending on the category selected from the Favourites menu and are fully customisable.
Menus and Toolbar Icons:
The menus and toolbar icons also provide shortcuts to areas of the system traditionally accessed via sequences of menus. Some options are customisable:
The File menu contains the last ten programs run by the current user.
The Favourites menu contains up to four categories. Selecting one of these categories changes the icons displayed in the DeskTop section of the form. These categories are also displayed as toolbar icons.
Note: For a category to be displayed, at least one icon must have been added to that category. See the section on adding an icon to the desktop.
The rest of the menu options available are as follows:
