You can view another person's diary and you can place appointments in it. The diary's owner can confirm or delete the appointment and, when he/she does so, an email is automatically sent to you alerting you to the fact.
Note: Non-living entities, such as meeting rooms, can have diaries. This enables you to, for example, book a room by placing an appointment in its diary.
Tip: You can arrange meetings with another individual by making an entry in their diary. Do not forget to put a corresponding appointment in your own diary. But for meetings with more than a small number of people, use the Organising a meeting facility.
To view another user's diary
On the Autoline master menu or other main menu, click the Administrator button.
The Administrator form is displayed.
Select the Diary tab.
The Electronic Administrator Diary tab is displayed.
Click the Another... button.
The Another Diary dialog box is displayed.
With the text cursor in the User: field, type the individual's name or user ID and press either the TAB key or the RETURN key.
If more than one individual matches what you typed, a Select Item From List form displays a menu of matching users, otherwise the Another Diary dialog box closes and the Administrator Diary tab displays the chosen individual's diary.
If applicable, select from the options displayed in the Select Item From List form.
The Select Item From List form closes and the Administrator Diary tab displays the chosen individual's diary.
Tip: If you change to another person's diary and, in Windows,* you switch to another task, then switch back to Autoline Administrator, it still shows the other person's diary. It is easy to inadvertently make entries intended for your own diary in the other's diary. It is therefore advisable to always switch back to your own diary before moving focus away from Autoline Administrator.
* Or other asynchronous multi-tasking operating system
This is displayed when you click the Another button on the Administrator Diary tab.
Search text: Autoline user ID whose diary you want to view. Press the RETURN to action the dialog box.
Tip: A partial name or login causes Autoline to search for matches. If two or more matches are retrieved, the Select Item From List menu is displayed when you press the RETURN key. The more accurate and complete a name you enter, the smaller is the list. If it finds no matches, the text in the Search box highlights.
