Maintaining Model Groups

Note: This help system contains standard information, some of which might not apply to your franchise. There might be a help file specific to your Autoline configuration. It could be either in the help system specific to your manufacturer, or displayed when you click the Help button on the relevant form or menu.

This help file describes the form where you can create groups of models, depending on how the system is set up for your franchise. The models group file it describes (00.MS.ltsmg) combines with a special field (MODELGRP) in the Model [Codes] file to give you an extra selection level over and above the standard level of vehicle models in Point of Sale. This helps you search a big list of model codes. The extra level of vehicle selection becomes available in the Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form if the Model group drop-down Drop-down is displayed.

Note: The extra level of vehicle selection is also only displayed if Models Group file, 00.MS.ltsmg, exists.

A model codes maintenance option allows you to assign a model group code that can be used to filter search results on the Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form. (A model group code is whatever code equates to the model group (MODELGRP) in this Models Group file.) This lets you assign models to vehicles more easily when the Service model field is not defined in CRM.

Note: The Service Model Group field on the Extended vehicle details form in Point of Sale is set from the Service model field in CRM Secondary details tab and is populated when a CRM vehicle record is loaded to the Service Point-of-Sale form.

Models Group Form

This form is displayed when you click Labour times schedule menu > Model Groups file. It lets you create groups of models.

Note: This menu option in your Autoline system might be worded differently.

Model Group (MODELGRP): Contains Model group codes. You manually create Model group codes.

Model Description (DESC): For example, Corolla. Cross-refers to the Model Group Description on the Model Code Maintenance form.
