Model File

Note: This help system contains standard information, some of which might not apply to your franchise. There might be a help file specific to your Autoline configuration. It could be either in the help system specific to your manufacturer, or displayed when you click the Help button on the relevant form or menu.

See also Model Codes.

Vehicle model codes identify a vehicle on a Point-of-Sale WIP record so that the allowed time for that labour operation on that model is available for the work to be accurately costed.

Model File Form

This form is displayed when you select the Model file option from the Labour Code menu. It enables you to identify the labour time slot that relates to a specific vehicle model.

Model: Service model code group in the CRM/Marketing vehicle record.

Note: The Model field in the Model file cross-refers to the Service model field on the CRM Secondary details tab, not to the Model field on the CRM Vehicles tab.

Model desc: Service model code group (make and model)

Slot number: Time slot identifier used for this model. 0 (zero) uses the default time in the Slot time field of the standard labour code. (The time slot can be shared by more than one model if the repair times are the same across the model groups.)

Model group (MODELGRP): Whether or not this field is available depends on how the system is set up for your franchise.

Tip: The field is currently displayed at the extreme right of the table/form.

Together with this field, The Models Group file lets you create groups of models. This gives you an extra selection level over and above the standard level of vehicle models in Point of Sale (Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form). The field creates a link between records of the two files. These facilities help you assign models to vehicles when the Service model field in CRM is not defined. This helps you search a big list of model codes when no vehicle is loaded on the WIP. The Model Group drop-down Drop-down of the Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form, filters the displayed models according to the model groups you have assigned.
