Search for Bin Location Form

If you are required to carry out bin location maintenance by your manufacturer, the Search for Bin Location form is displayed when you click the Bin location Ellipsis button on the Quantities tab of the stock record. Within this form you can identify any free bins into which the part will fit, according to the selected storage type and zone. Having selected the bin code to be used the system will automatically update the Part Number reference within the bin location maintenance record.

Storage type: Select the required storage type from the drop-down menu.

Zone: Select the required zone from the drop-down menu.

Free bins only: This check box is ticked by default. It only displays the bins into which the part will fit. Untick this box, if you want to display all bins for the selected storage type and zone.

Refresh: When you update the storage type, zone or free bins fields, click this button to view the results.

Bin location: The up-to 8-character bin code.

Name: A description of the bin.

Zone: The single-character bin zone code.

Type: The single-character storage type code.

Part number: The number of the part stored in this bin location.
