Printer Mapping

This facility enables you to set up various workstations with a selected printer.

Printer Details Form

This form is displayed when you click System Utilities > MANAGEMENT MENU > Printer map. It enables you to configure printer details.

Printer code: The code of the selected printer, selectable with an ellipsis button.

Printer Details Tab

Printer mode: Printer mode, selectable with a drop-down button. This can be one of the following:

POS doc printer No: Printer number for POS document sequencing.

Description: Describes the selected printer.

Form-feed before: When this check box is ticked, a new page or form is fed through the printer prior to printing.

Form-feed after: When this check box is ticked, a new page or form is fed through the printer after printing.

Lines per page: Number of lines per print page.

Compatibility mode: Compatibility mode, selectable with a drop-down button. This can be one of the following:

Access priority: User priority level required to use the selected printer.

Colour printer: When this check box is ticked, the selected printer is a colour printer.

Suppress line feed?: This check box is set to a tick if the selected printer has hardware line feed.

UNIX device: Unix device command.

Mini parameters: Used with the $device command, or left blank.

Printer driver: Key to the printer driver file, selectable with an ellipsis button.

Available location:

Up to five locations, selectable with ellipsis buttons, where the selected printer is available.

Note: For a user to be able to start, stop or kill the spooler, there must be a tick in the Access column in the grid on the Display User Access Tab of the User Details form (with that User ID selected) next to a location listed here as an Available location for that print spooler. If there is a location mismatch, the following warning message is displayed:

You do not have access permissions for this spooler

Buttons:

Exit: Returns you to the MANAGEMENT MENU.

Ad-hoc: Enables you to construct queries and display or print the result. You can save a query for future use.
