The SYSTEM UTILITIES menu is displayed when you click System utilities on the main menu. This menu displays options concerning system setup and maintenance.
Access to functions on the menu is controlled by access permissions, called priorities. Each function is given a priority when Autoline is installed. Your administrator gives each user a priority. Functions whose priority is higher than your own are omitted from the menus shown on your screen. If you think you need access to a function described in this help but not visible on your screen, check with your administrator.
Backup procedure: Enables you to create secure backup copies of your data and creates a log of your backup activities.
View security logs: Enables you to view your backup logs.
Display users: Contains information on users and processes currently running on the system.
Start all backgrounds: Starts background daemons that enable you to perform tasks without waiting for the various file updates to take place.
Prevent/allow access: Enables you to lock or unlock access to modules; display the users; or clear illegal users for an individual Module/Company, a whole Module/Company, or the whole system.
Ad-hoc enquiries: Ad-hoc enquiries enables you to construct database queries and display, print or graph the result.
File usage statistics: Enables you to reset in-use flags.
Change password: Enables you to instigate a password change.
Personal details: Enables you to store brief personal details on the system. Your personal details record enables you to select items to be displayed on your customised master menu.
Management menu: Displays options pertaining to system administration.
Spool utilities: Displays printer spool options.
Timed operations: The timed operations menu contains options that control the Timed Operations Daemon (Agent). (End of Day has been replaced by a Timed Operations Daemon.)
FTP utilities: Displays options pertaining to file transfer protocol.
Advanced system admin: Displays advanced options generally available to system administrators only.
Archive and delete panic files: Enables you to manually run a process which archives and deletes panic files over a month old which have not been edited.
