Verify files

Note: This program should be run every day and is generally performed as part of a more general function of verifying all files by the system manager when running the End-of -Day.

This program is used to verify that all of the files within the Vehicle Stockbooks database are intact and that no corruption has occurred. It is a vital routine to carry out after a hardware or software fault has occurred.

The Verify files form is displayed when the Verify files option is selected from the CD System Maintenance Menu.

To Verify files:

  1. Once the Verify files form is displayed, click the Company button.

The Choose Company dialog box is displayed.

  2. Enter a two character company code for the company, and click the OK button.

  3. Click the Verify button.

    The Files will be verified.

Note: If no errors are encountered then there will be no output from the program. If, however, any errors are encountered, or any file has exceeded its pre-determined percentage full capacity, then the details will be printed to a log report which should be studied carefully.
