Database Cleansing Form 2 (Customers)

The Database Cleansing: Step 2 of 4 - Customer record confirmation form is displayed when you click the Next button on the Database Cleansing: Step 1 of 4 - Record Selection form. It enables the copying of data from nominated merge records to the nominated master record.

Note: This variant of the Database Cleansing... form 2 applies when the duplication search is by customer, not by company or vehicle. In other words, it is displayed when you click the Next button after selecting Merge > Customers from the menu bar or clicking the Customers toolbar button Customers.gif on the Database Cleansing... form 1.

Master record details:

Magic number: Record number

Customer name: Customer's name

Address: Customer's address

Postcode: Postal (zip) code of customer's address

Branch: Company branch or department (for example, NEW Newbury)

Company (two fields): Autoline company code and name

Home: Customer's home telephone

Work: Customer's work telephone

Fax: Customer's facsimile

Mobile: Customer's mobile telephone

Email: Customer's email address

Master record details PUSH BUTTONS:

Restore Master: Restores original contents of the master record, undoing any changes. (Enabled only when field contents have been copied from the Selected record to the Master record.)

CRM: Drills in to the master record in CRM

Records to merge:

The grid lines represent records marked for merging.

Tip: Click on a line to display the record in the Selected record details group box.

Magic: Record number

Name: Customer's name

Address: Customer's address

Right-click menu:

Display more details: Displays the record represented by the line (in read-only mode)

Remove line from list: Removes the record represented by the line from the selection

Selected record details:

Tip: If a field's data is more up-to-date than that in the master record, use its blue up-arrow button UpTop.gif to copy its contents to the equivalent field in the Master record details group box.

Magic number: Record number

Company name: Customer's name

Address: Customer's address

Postcode: Postal (zip) code of customer's address

Branch: Company branch or department (for example, NEW Newbury)

Company (two fields): Autoline company mnemonic code and name

Home: Customer's home telephone

Work: Customer's work telephone

Email: Customer's email address

Next: Displays the Database Cleansing: Step 3 of 4 - Record Locking form, its grid listing files containing matching data and the All locked? column being ticked line-by-line as each file is processed in turn
