Record merging is the process whereby Autoline reads files identified as containing duplicate data and either deleting the records concerned or marking them for subsequent deletion.
A progress bar (at the bottom of the form) indicates how much of the process has been completed as a proportion of the total. Also, as each file is completed, a tick is displayed in the All merged? column of its grid line.
If Autoline encounters a problem during the merge, the affected file's line in the grid is displayed in red and the following is displayed in the form's message area (at upper left):
There were errors, merge incomplete. Press OK to close
In that case, clicking the OK button enables you to store the selection and retry the process later.
The Database Cleansing: Step 4 of 4 - Record Merge form is displayed when you click either the Set to X status or the Delete button on the Confirm merge start form. It enables you to observe progress of the merge including any faults encountered.
