Viewing the Last Merge Log

To display the last merge log:

  1. From the Autoline Master menu, select the CRM option and the appropriate Company.

    The CRM menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Reports & enquiries option.

    The CRM REPORTS AND ENQUIRIES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Database cleansing option.

    The CRM DATABASE CLEANSING menu is displayed.

  4. Select the Deduplication utility option.

    The Database Cleansing: Step 1 of 4 - Record Selection form is displayed.

  5. From the menu bar, select File > View Last Log...

    The View Log form is displayed, containing the previous merge log of a deduplication run.

View Log Form

This form is displayed when you select File > View Last Log... from the menu bar of the Database Cleansing form or by clicking the View log button on either the Database Cleansing: Step 3 of 4 - Record Locking form or the Database Cleansing: Step 4 of 4 - Record Merge form. It features a text box containing a log of the last de-duplication run, including details of the record retained on the system and how many records were merged and from which files.

Text box:

The following lines of text in the log are particularly significant:

Log Date: When the last database cleansing operation was run

CRM company: The Autoline CRM company for which the process was run

Merge ran by XXX login (XXX): The login identifying who ran the process

Processing merge ...: File and record number of merged and deleted record

Locking [file identifier]: Identifies file locked for the merge and the results of the merge

PUSH BUTTONS:

Find Error: Selects (highlights) the first line in the text box logging an error (caused, for example, by it finding no matching records). Clicking it again highlights the next error line...

Find Lock: Selects (highlights) the first line in the text box logging locked record(s), listing the file concerned and identifying the record. Clicking the button again highlights the next locked record line...

Search Log: Displays a Merge log search form, prompting you to enter a text string (a filename). When you click OK, the Merge log search form closes and the first line containing the specified file is highlighted. If it finds no matching line, the following message is displayed:

No more occurrences in log

Find Next: Highlights the next line containing the specified file. (The button is enabled only after the Search Log button finds a match.) If it finds no more matching lines, the following message is displayed:

No more occurrences in log
