The record locking stage includes a facility to view:
Files that need merging because matching data has been found (including the number of affected records in each file)
Optionally, all files searched for matching data (including, for those files that do not need merging, the reason why).
It provides facilities for manually deselecting a file from the merge list, storing the merge selection for subsequent retrieval and processing, and viewing a log of the last de-duplication run.
Tip: To postpone running the merge process, you can click the Cancel button at any time prior to clicking the Merge button. A confirmation box is displayed, enabling you to store the merge selection for subsequent retrieval and processing.
The Database Cleansing: Step 3 of 4 - Record Locking form is displayed when you click the Next button on the Database Cleansing: Step 2 of 4 - Customer record confirmation form. Its grid lists files containing matching data and the company, module, and number of records affected by the lock. When the form is first displayed, when you click the previous form's Next button, the All locked? column is ticked line-by-line as each file is processed in turn.
Only show files that need updating: A tick indicates that only those files that need merging are displayed as lines in the main grid.
Tip: Untick the Only show files that need updating box to refresh the grid with all files interrogated during the process, including those that do not need merging together with the reason why (in the Notes column).
COLOUR GRID:
Indicates the meaning of colored text in the main grid lines.
