Menu Pricing Status

A facility exists that allows you to view details about the current version of menu pricing data and latest import/conversion, view the log files, and control access to menu pricing in Point-of-Sale (POS).

Note: Vauxhall GME users cannot view details about the data version or latest import/conversion because GME data is not imported via the Menu Pricing setup option. It is automatically imported in Point-of-Sale by connecting to the Vauxhall GME web site. You may still want to view the backup or restore log files, however, or control access to menu pricing in Point-of-Sale.

What do you want to do?

Viewing Data Version and Import/Conversion Details

Each time data is uploaded and converted on the Autoline system, details are normally stored about the current data version, together with the ID of the user that uploaded and/or converted the data. This is not the case for Vauxhall, however, because GME data is not uploaded/converted via the Menu pricing setup option.

Note: Access to menu pricing in Point-of-Sale is automatically denied when data is uploaded and converted.

To view data version and import/conversion details:

Note: Details about the data and import/conversion are not recorded for Vauxhall because GME data is not imported/converted via the Menu Pricing setup option.

  1. From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu, select the GME menu pricing option.

The Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Menu Pricing setup option.

If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.

  3. Select the SO company.

The Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form is displayed.

  4. Display the Status tab.

Viewing the Import Log File

Each time menu pricing data is imported, a log file is normally generated. This is not the case for Vauxhall, however, because the GME data is not uploaded and converted via the Menu Pricing setup option.

To view the import log file:

Note: An import log is not produced for Vauxhall because GME data is not imported via the Menu Pricing setup option. If you attempt to display the import log, the message Unable to open logfile (MS/logs/GMSMP_IMPORT) is displayed.

  1. Display the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form as described in the procedure on Viewing Data Version and Import/Conversion Details.

  2. Click Import in the Log files group box on the Status tab.

The View Log File form is displayed.

Viewing the Conversion Log File

Each time menu pricing data is converted, a log file is normally generated. This is not the case for Vauxhall, however, because GME data is not uploaded/converted via the Menu Pricing setup option.

To view the conversion log file:

Note: No conversion log is produced for Vauxhall because GME data is not converted via the Menu Pricing setup option. If you attempt to display the conversion log, the message Unable to open logfile (MS/logs/GMSMP_CONVERSION) is displayed.

  1. Display the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form as described in the procedure on Viewing Data Version and Import/Conversion Details.

  2. Click Conversion in the Log files group box on the Status tab.

The View Log File form is displayed.

Viewing the Backup Log File

Each time a backup is performed, a log file is generated. The log file is named GMSMP_BACKUP, and is stored in a directory on the Autoline system called MS/logs. You can view this log file via the Status tab of the Vauxhall GME Setup form as described here, or via the Backup and Restore form.

To view the backup log file:

  1. Display the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form as described in the procedure on Viewing Data Version and Import/Conversion Details.

  2. Click Backup in the Log files group box on the Status tab.

The View Log File Form (MS/logs/GMSMP_BACKUP) is displayed.

Viewing the Restore Log File

Each time menu pricing data is restored, a log file is created. The log file is named GMSMP_RESTORE, and is stored in a directory on the Autoline system called MS/logs. You can view this log file via the Status tab of the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form as described here, or via the Backup and Restore form.

To view the restore log file:

Locking the Menu Pricing Program

If required, you can lock the menu pricing program in Point-of-Sale, so that users do not have access.

Note: Access to menu pricing in Point-of-Sale is automatically denied when data is uploaded and converted.

To lock the program:

  1. Display the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Setup form as described in the procedure on Viewing Data Version and Import/Conversion Details.

  2. Select Lock menu pricing in the Locking group box.

The system denies POS users access to menu pricing data until you clear the Lock menu pricing field.
