Note: This help system contains information only for GM.
This menu is displayed when you select the RIM Menu option from the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu. It enables you to transmit parts sales data extracts to GM and to receive from GM advice note files based on those extracts. It also enables you to amend the RIM parts file when GM adds new part numbers to RIM and removes old numbers periodically. The latter is typically required when you action supersessions.
In case the need arises, the RIM Menu also enables you to use the latest parts sales log (created automatically by Autoline), to generate a parts sales data extract. This manual task is additional to its usual creation as a timed operation.
Access permissions, called priorities, determine whether a particular menu option is displayed. Each menu option is assigned a priority when the program is installed. Your administrator assigns each user a priority. Any menu option whose priority is higher than your own is omitted from the menu. If you think you need access to a menu option described in this help but it does not appear in the actual menu, check with your administrator.
