You can enter a chassis number and search for outstanding recall campaigns related to it. The GM CIS web service returns a list of recall campaigns for the given chassis, which includes the campaign code and a description. As well as the campaign information, the service provides additional vehicle information.
To make a VIN enquiry:
From the General Motors Operations Menu select GM CIS followed by the name of the Point-of-Sale company you require.
The GM CIS Administrator form is displayed.
Click the Enquiry button.
The Campaign Information Systems form is displayed.
This form is displayed when you click Enquiry on the GM CIS Administrator form. It enables you to find information on outstanding recall campaigns for a particular vehicle.
CRM Vehicle details:
Chassis number: Vehicle VIN number.
Note: You can populate this field from the Chassis used for testing group box if you are logged in as kcc.
Registration: Vehicle registration number.
Registration year: Year when the vehicle was registered.
Description: Vehicle make and model.
Button:
Search: Searches for and displays recall campaigns matching the Chassis number.
Actions buttons:
Close: Loads any ticked labour operations to the WIP and returns you to the GM CIS Administrator form.
CIS online: Enables you to obtain an authentication ticket from the GM CIS web site, open a browser and navigate to the appropriate page showing the campaign details for the selected vehicle. Some of the vehicle details returned from the GM CIS web service can be used to update Marketing vehicle records.
Vehicle info: Displays vehicle information and lists the option codes and descriptions for the selected vehicle.
Help: Displays this help topic in a browser.
Outstanding campaigns:
If any recall campaigns are found for the selected vehicle, they are listed here with the campaign number, start and end dates and description for the relevant Product Safety Recall, Service Update, Special Policy Program and so on.
Labour:
Click a campaign displayed in the Outstanding campaigns group box to display the labour operation codes and descriptions for that campaign. Click the Load column to load the corresponding labour operation to the WIP. Click a ticked column to remove the tick.
Note: When this interface is used in Point-of-Sale, you can load the campaigns onto the WIP as text lines.
Profile:
Note: This group box is available only when you are logged in as kcc.
Profile: Either ADP Support or Dealer, selectable from a drop-down button. The Dealer profile is used by the dealer and can be switched on and off in the GM CIS parameters. The ADP Support profile is used by ADP for supporting and testing the product. For example, if a customer rings with a problem, ADP Support can switch off the Dealer profile, activate the ADP Support profile and carry out tests without affecting the dealer. The ADP alias parameter enables a nominated user at a customer site to also do some testing using the ADP profile.

Chassis number: Test chassis number, selectable from a drop-down button. The selection populates the Chassis number field in the CRM Vehicle details group box.

SOAP, Simple Object Access Protocol, is a protocol for exchanging XML-based messages over computer networks, normally using HTTP/HTTPS.Request: Displays data for a request made to the GM CIS web service.
Response: Displays data for a response made by the GM CIS web service.
