Creating a New Claim

If you know the WIP number against which warranty work is invoiced, or you want to create a claim for a single WIP/Invoice, you can use the New option on the File menu.

Note: It is recommended that you use this option to create warranty claims. However, if you do not know the WIP number, you can use the Auto-create option to identify outstanding warranty jobs and create claims.

To create a warranty claim:

Tip: Keep a copy of the invoice to hand as you create each claim.

  1. From the VOLVO UK OPERATIONS menu, select the Warranty option.

    The VOLVO UK WARRANTY menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Warranty claims option.

    The system prompts you for the Point-of-Sale (SO) company.

  3. Select the SO company to which the claims relate and click OK.

    The Volvo Warranty UK Claims form is displayed.

  4. From the File menu, select the New option.

    The system prompts you to enter the WIP number.

  5. Enter the WIP number on which you invoiced the warranty jobs and click OK.

    Tip: If the WIP number is unknown, click the Ellipse [...] button to carry out a search.

    The WIPS/Invoices Available for Warranty Claim Creation form is displayed.

  6. Select the WIP from which you want to create a claim, and a warranty type.

  7. Click the OK button.

    The system defaults the details from the WIP into the Volvo UK Warranty Claims form.

  8. Complete the claim details and make any amendments if necessary.

    Note: Make sure that you identify the Main op on the Labour tab.

  9. From the File menu, select the Save option.

    The system validates the claim.
