The Volvo GPSS/VSTG system allows you to search for a menu in Point-of-Sale (POS) and to negotiate the menu price before you load it onto the WIP. This topic assumes that you are familiar with standard POS operation.
To load a GPSS package and/or a VST onto a WIP:
Within the New product field of the WIP, set the company to VO (Volvo UK).
Click the Search button within the New product group.
The system prompts you to select an item from the menu.
Select the Menus option.
Tip: Alternatively, enter an asterisk (*) in the search field and press the TAB key. If you know the operation number or the menu code that you require, you can enter it manually rather than search for it. You would do this by entering an asterisk (*) plus menu code for a GPSS package, or hash (#) plus operation number for a VST.
The Volvo GPSS/VSTG form is displayed prompting you for vehicle and job details.
Within the Vehicle group, supply any of the known details to narrow the job search:
Note: If you have loaded a vehicle onto the WIP, the system defaults in any details that exist on the marketing vehicle record.
Within the Job group, enter the Job number if known. Alternatively, select a Group, a Sub Group and the Operation.
Tip: A list of valid records is available from the drop-down menus.
Click the Search button.
The system automatically commences a search of menu pricing and displays the results within the Available options group.
Do one of the following:
To display a GPSS package, select an item and click the GPSS button.
To load a VST onto the WIP, select an item and click the VSTG button.
Tip: Alternatively, double-click the left mouse button to select an item.
If you selected a GPSS package, the system performs a check to see if the following exist, and prompts you to make a selection if they do:
Pricing is displayed for negotiation within the Volvo GPSS/VSTG Negotiation form.
Make any changes required to the menu. You can:
Apply a discount to the menu price or set a fixed menu price
Apply a global or line-by-line discount to parts
Apply a global or line-by-line discount to labour
Select the required load option.
The Fixed-load option loads parts and labour at a fixed single price.
The Itemised-load option loads parts and labour as an itemised menu.
Click the OK button to load the menu onto the WIP.
The Volvo GPSS/VSTG form is displayed when you invoke a search for a menu or labour from a POS WIP. This form prompts for entry of vehicle and job details. A search of GPSS/VSTG is carried out based on the details that you enter.
Note: If you have loaded a vehicle onto the WIP, the system defaults in any details that exist on the marketing vehicle record. Alternatively, enter the details if known to narrow the job search.
