System Controls

System controls are only available to priority 9 users because changing them after a system is live can cause problems. Standard functionality exists that allows you to maintain the controls for the selected Human Resources company.

Warning: The system controls must NOT be changed unless under guidance from a support consultant.

To access the Human Resources system controls:

There are two methods :-

Tools, Options access is as follows:-
  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Human Resources option and Company you require.

    The Human Resources Password form is displayed.

  2. Enter your human resource password.

    The HUMAN RESOURCES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Human Resources option.

    The Human Resources record is displayed.

  4. Once a human resource record is selected or initially chosen for creation select the Tools option.

  5. Select the Options option.

  6. Select the System Controls option.

    The Human Resources System Controls form is displayed.

System maintenance menu access is as follows:-
  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Human Resources option and Company you require.

    The Human Resources Password form is displayed.

  2. Enter your human resource password.

    The HUMAN RESOURCES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the System maintenance option.

    The SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

  4. Select the System controls option.

    The Human Resources System Controls form is displayed.

Human Resources System Controls Form

The Human Resources System Controls form is displayed when you select the System Controls option from the Options menu or from the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu. From this form you can amend the system controls for the selected Human Resources company.

System Controls Tab

Last Link Key Used: This is the last unique key allocated to a newly created personnel record. The link key is used to link either the main human resource record or leaver record to all the associated human resource data files.

Warning: This should never been altered without checking on the live data first

Last vacancy number used: This is only accessible if the Recruitment processing system parameter is ticked. The last vacancy number.

Last applicant number used: This is only accessible if the Recruitment system processing parameter is ticked. The last applicant number used.

Last recruitment letter batch: This is only accessible if the Recruitment system processing parameter is ticked. The last letter batch used when processing applicants and generating letters.

Next log number: This is only accessible if the Change control audit log is used. The next log number in the audit log.

Holiday EOY last run: This is the date the last holiday year end was run. This is checked when holiday entitlement and another holiday year end is run.

Holiday end of year userid: This is the user id who ran the holiday year end last.

Holiday year end: This is last day of the current holiday year. For example if the system parameters for the Holiday year start day and Holiday year start month are both set to 1 and within 2005 the holiday year end date is 31/12/2005. This date is checked when a holiday year end is run to ensure the holiday year has been completed before the holiday year end is run. The date is revised as a part of the holiday year end process.
