When you have assessed which parts you want to return to the manufacturer, you can manually edit the customer returns proposal. All parts proposed for return are initially flagged as Accepted. If you want to keep some of the parts in stock, you can manually edit this quantity on the customer returns proposal, and delete dead records if required. You have the option to display and edit parts by account code or part number.
When you are happy that the customer returns proposal reflects the quantity of parts that you want to return to the manufacturer, you can allocate the quantity of accepted parts to the Returns location on the Quantities tab of each stock record.
Note: The Returns location on the stock record is normally populated by an update report.
To edit a returns proposal:
The STOCK MANAGEMENT menu is displayed.
Select the Miscellaneous options option and click OK.
The SM MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu is displayed.
Select the Customer returns option.
The SM CUSTOMER RETURNS menu is displayed.
Select the Edit customer returns proposal option.
The Customer Part Returns form is displayed.
Do one of the following:
To edit records by account code, display the Accounts tab and enter the A/c No.
To edit records by part number, display the Part Number tab and enter the Part No.
Tip: Click the Ellipsis button to search for an account or part number.
To edit the quantity of parts that you want to return, click the Edit button, and amend the quantities in the Accept column as required.
The Customer Part Returns form is displayed when you select the Edit customer returns proposal option from the SM CUSTOMER RETURNS menu. From this form, you can amend the quantity of parts proposed for return to the manufacturer and delete dead records.
PUSH BUTTONS:
Edit: Allows you to amend the quantity of parts proposed for return to the manufacturer. Click the button and amend the quantities in the Accept column as required.
Delete: Allows you to delete dead records. Select the record that you want to delete and click this button.
A/c no: Enter the Sales Ledger account code, if known, or click the Ellipsis button
to search for an account.
For each account, the following details are summarised:
Part Number: The part number proposed for return.
Description: A description of the part.
Return: This field displays the total number of parts proposed for return.
Accept: The quantity of parts that are proposed for return to the manufacturer. All parts are automatically flagged as accepted. If required, you can amend this quantity. When you amend the accepted quantity, the rejected quantity is automatically adjusted.
Reject: The quantity of parts that you propose to keep in stock. This value is automatically adjusted when you amend the accepted quantity.

Part No: Enter the part number, if known, or click the Ellipsis button
