It is possible to accumulate sales analysis by customer and product discount code and, having manually entered budgeted amounts, compare these to the actual values. Another feature of this option is to provide instant analysis of the top 20 customers and/or discount codes.
In order to record sales analysis for a given customer, they must have a unique Sales Ledger account designated to them, and in that Sales Ledger account, the sales representative code 1 must be non-zero. Any value can be held here such as SA denoting sales analysis on this account or 01 through to 20 denoting which customer is most significant based on previous performance.
The file organisation is very simple with one record for every Sales Ledger account code and product discount code combination. There are two keys to the file. The first one is made up of the Sales Ledger account followed by the product discount code. The second key is the other way around. In this way, the analysis provided can be either by customer or product discount code primarily, with sub-division available at the other level.
As well as the key fields, there are actual sales (gross), actual discounts and actual costs plus budgeted sales (gross), discounts and costs. Each of these fields occurs twelve times providing an annual capacity.
The SO PARTS SALES ANALYSIS menu is displayed when you select the Parts sales analysis option from the POINT OF SALE menu. From this menu, you can carry out all the tasks necessary to manage parts sales analysis.
Top 20 customers: Allows you to examine sales analysis, by customer, showing them in descending order of performance.
Top 20 discount codes: Allows you to examine sales analysis, by product discount group, showing them in descending order of performance.
View sales analysis: Provides specific customer or product discount group analysis in a graphical format.
Ad-hoc enquiry: The facilities of the Ad-hoc enquiries option are common to all Autoline software applications. A powerful and sophisticated set of tools allows specialised enquiries of any module. Enquiries can be formulated using field and verb references. Reports can be saved for regular use enquiries.
Add/modify sales analysis: Allows you to provide for the maintenance of the budgeted or forecast sales values, and possibly the set-up of year-to-date actual data where a system is going live part way through a year.
