The Custom Entry Vehicle form is displayed by selecting the Custom Entry Vehicle option from the Tools menu of Showroom Customer Enquiries. Alternatively it can be accessed by clicking the Custom Entry Vehicle line on the Vehicles Matching Criteria Entered form as part of the process of creating a quotation for either new or used vehicles.
It allows the user to produce a supposed cash or finance proposal based on a new or used vehicle for which the details are manually entered, including the selling price.
This form is not displayed if using MKV mode. It is only available if Backoffice Mode is enabled, and typically used only when the Franchise Data and Vehicle Stockbooks modules are not holding up-to-date information. It is not available to users who can only quote for stocked vehicles.
The following fields are displayed:
Date for specification: Enter the specification date of the vehicle for Franchise Data. Click the ellipsis button ... to display a pop-up calendar. The default is today's date.
Vehicle Type: Enter an N if a new vehicle proposal is to be raised or a U if it is for a used vehicle. This field is automatically filled-in and read-only if the form is called from the new or used quotation process.
VAT qualifying?: Tick the check box if the vehicle is VAT qualifying. This option is only enabled if the vehicle type is set to (U)sed.
Age (years): Enter the age of the vehicle to the nearest year. This field is used later to determine which finance schemes are applicable. This option is only enabled if the vehicle type is set to (U)sed.
Franchise: Enter the franchise code of the vehicle. Use the ellipsis button ... to display a list.
Model: Enter the model code of the vehicle. Use the ellipsis button ... to display a list. It is possible to leave this field blank.
Variant: Enter the model code of the vehicle. Use the ellipsis button ... to display a list of variants on which to base the custom vehicle. It is possible to leave this field blank, in which case a meaningful description should be entered in the description field.
Description: Enter a description. If a valid franchise, model and variant code have been used above, a suggested description is created by the system from information in the Franchise Data module.
Sale Code: Enter the cost price (an absolute value, with decimal places and prefixed with #, e.g. #5000) or the percentage margin (in a format which is disguised by multiplying by 100, e.g. 1250 for a margin of 12.5%).
Basic price: Enter the selling price of the vehicle excluding VAT. If this custom vehicle is used, the price should probably also include any factory fitted and dealer fitted options. These can be added into the quote separately for a new vehicle at a later stage.
Once completed, click the Next button. The Select Payment Method form is displayed, to allow a finance scheme to be chosen, followed by the Enquiry Builder.
