This topic shows you how to use the List of assets and Opening balances options on the AR Reports & Enquiries Menu.
Report Generator: Enables you to print out from the Register general information on all or unsold assets. The second enables you to report on the financial position of assets, as that information stood at the beginning of the current financial year.
List of Assets: This option enables you to print out a report of general asset information, based on the current position of assets on the Asset Register. You may specify all assets for inclusion on this report, or you may limit the information printed to unsold assets only.
Opening Balances: This option enables you to print out a report showing the financial position of all assets on the Register, correct at the start of the current financial year. In other words, the position of the Asset Register as it stood immediately following the last run of the End of year process option on the System Maintenance Menu.
On the List of assets and the Opening balances reports, information on individual assets is printed in tabular format, under the appropriate headings. Examples of such headings are Item Number, Description, Initial Cost, Net Book Value and Cumulative Depreciation.
Individual asset details are grouped by Asset Class, with a sub-total of financial information shown for the assets within each Class. At the foot of the printout, a financial grand total for all assets on the report is calculated and shown.
Note: You cannot alter in any way the information stored on the Asset Register with either of these options. They are for reporting purposes only. Both are located on the AR Reports & Enquiries Menu, selected from the Asset Register Menu.
Tip: To halt the report printing at any stage, click on the Cancel button.
