This topic shows you how to use the Asset transfers and Family tree options on the AR Reports & Enquiries Menu.
The first option enables you to print out information on assets that have been moved between Asset Classes at any time in the current financial year. The second enables you to display on screen details of asset splits which were performed during the current financial year.
A feature of the Asset Register is that an asset, once entered to the system, may subsequently be moved from its original Asset Class to another Class and given a new, unused Item Number. In addition, an asset may be split within its Asset Class into a parent and child. Both operations may be performed using the Asset movement option.
The two options discussed in this topic, enable you to report on asset transfers and splits. The first produces a printout; the second displays its information on screen.
You may use the Asset transfers option to print out information on all assets that have been transferred between Asset Classes.
You may use the Family Tree option to show on your terminal screen details of assets that have been split into parents and children.
Note: Details of asset transfers and splits that were performed in previous years are cleared from the Register through annual runs of the End of year process option on the AR System Maintenance Menu. Accordingly, such details are no longer available for reporting upon.
Both the Asset transfers and the Family tree options show their results in tabular format, under the appropriate headings; examples of such headings are Item Number, Description, Asset Class and Model Number.
You cannot alter in any way the information stored on the Asset Register with either of these options; they are for reporting purposes only. Both are located on the AR Reports & Enquiries Menu, selected from the Asset Register Menu.
Tip: To halt the printing of the Asset Transfers Report at any stage, click on the Cancel button.
