Vehicle Specification

This form is displayed when you click Vehicle Options > Specification on the Vehicle record. It enables you to view and amend the options held against a selected vehicle.

Menu and Tool Bars

The options available from both the menu bar and tool bar are:-

Save the specification form and return to the vehicle record.

Close

Close the specification form and return to the vehicle record without making changes.
Help

View help on the current application.

Grid:

The vehicle specification is displayed in grid format and contains the following information.

OT: The type of option selected, see below below.

Description: The description of the vehicle option. If you click on the word Description you will also be able to view the option code name.

O: Origin of the specification line. Possible values are S for Standard, O for Optional, and R for Standard removable. If installed.

S: A single letter code that identifies the source of data e.g. F for fixed, W for Workshop, P for purchase ledger etc.

A: The Analysis code of the vehicle option.

Retail: The retail "Invoice" value of the specification line.

V: The VAT code used on the vehicle option.

Discount: The value of discount that is applicable to this vehicle option if using Line discounting as set in the Discount method in the General tab of the Showroom System Parameters.

Cost: The actual cost price of the vehicle option. Used to calculate the profit.

Net profit: The net profit made on the vehicle option. This is the Retail value minus the cost price of the vehicle option.

Note: Lines highlighted in red have a difference between the actual and estimated cost, or are total lines. And lines highlighted in blue have not received an actual cost.

Tip: To add, edit or remove a specification line or push or pull line to the workshop right click on the required specification line and choose the required task. Available in Amend mode only.

Warning: If the vehicle record belongs to a vehicle created in VSB mode the specification line can only be displayed. The Vehicle options section is not displayed.

To add a specification line select the required vehicle option type for example Dealer fitted options. Then double click on the required option description or price to populate the specification grid at the top of the form.

Adding a specification line only be done in Amend or Supplementary modes

Amend mode

Right click on the required specification line to view and choose from a list of tasks from a sub menu.

Edit line details: The Vehicle Specification Line Detail is opened. Limited information like the Product reference description and actual and estimated costs are editable. This depends on the users priority level.

Note: If a Text line is selected only a Text Line description form is displayed.

Remove this options from the list: Remove the specification line if no actual costs are received.

Push to POS: Push preparation lines to the workshop.

Pull from POS: Pull back the pushed preparation lines , only if WIPS have not been created.

Supplementary mode

Once a vehicle has been invoiced the vehicle specification is in Supplementary mode. It is only possible to right click and display each specification line or add a new option from the Vehicle options available.
