Transferring claims to Ford GWE

The transfer of claims to Ford GWE is carried out in two stages. The system first batches claims on the Autoline system and then downloads the file to the PC in a format recognised by GWE.

To transfer claims to Ford GWE:

  1. From the FORD OPERATIONS menu, select the Warranty menu option.

The FORD WARRANTY menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Claims maintenance option.

The system prompts you for the POS company number.

  3. Select the POS company number to which the claims relate.

The Warranty claim form is displayed.

  4. Click the Export button.

A dialog box is displayed giving you the following options: Create-batch, Resubmit-batch and Transfer-to-GWE.

  5. Select the Create-batch option.

A batch file of outstanding claims is created on the Autoline system. The system displays a dialog box advising the number of claims contained in the batch and the batch number.

  6. Click the OK button.

A further dialog box is displayed with the following message:

Transfer claims to PC ? Transfer Abort

  7. Click the Transfer button.

Note: If you are transferring claims to floppy diskette, an additional prompt is displayed when you click the Transfer button: Transfer to diskette, with options to Continue or Cancel. Click the Continue button.

The system starts to transfer the batch file to the PC. A batch filename is created which is a combination of the POS company number and batch number, e.g. 3000074.imp. If the file transfer is successful, the following message is displayed: File transfer to PC - okay

  8. Click the OK button.

You are returned to the list of export options.

Note: You must now import the batch of claims into the Ford GWE system, update the claims and submit them to Ford.
