Creating Supersessions

This function supports the user with creating a supersessions within the stock management supersession file and is based upon the information in the Mercedes-Benz supersession file.

Note: With the Use MB supersessions parameter, you can select for which company the Mercedes-Benz supersessions is used. Depending on this selection the Supersession Maintenance form or the Stock Supersessions form is displayed.

Supersessions Maintenance Form

This form is displayed when you click Stock management > Supersede stock line.

Menu Bar and Toolbar:

Menu bar Toolbar Action
File > Exit Exit.gif Returns you to the Stock managment menu.
Edit > Search find.gif Search for existing supersessions with the use of filters. Can be used to report parts which are in the stock supersession file but not in the MB supersession file.
Edit > Check Tick.gif Verifies the part supersession chain.
Edit > Show FileSearch.gif Display the part Supersession chain.
Edit > Setup - grid edit Access the Supersessions file in grid maintenance mode.
Report > Report on supersession-chain integrity Valuation.gif Produce the supersession-chein integrity report.
Report > Report on supersessions not on stock Valuation.gif Produce the supersessions not on stock report.
Help > Help Help2.gif Displays this help topic in a web browser.
Help > About Displays version and copyright information.

Fields:

Partnumber: Enter the part number to be used as the basis for the creation of a new supersession record.

Should be: Defines the supersession replacement type to be created:

Note: Depending on the Supersession code type in use parameter, the Standard Autoline condition codes or the Mercedes-Benz condition codes are listed.

By partnumber: Enter the part number to be created.

Backwards compatible: Select to make this supersession backwards compatible.

Note: The Backwards compatible field is available when the ‘Straight superseded’ condition code is selected.

Buttons:

UNDO: Deletes the selected supersession record from the grid.

ADD: Creates the new supersession entered.

SAVE: Saves the changed supersession record.

Note: The SAVE button is available when the ‘Straight superseded’ condition code is selected.

Update partlines:

Update WIP lines: Select to update all WIP lines with new supersession(s).

Update purchase control lines: Select to update purchase control lines with new supersession(s).

Supersessions on current part Grid:

This area provides a summary of the supersessions associated with the superseded part.

Part number: Display of the superseded part number.

Superseded: Display of the supersession type.

Partnumber: Display of the superceding part number.

Backwards compatible: Indicates the superseded part is backwards compatible.

Check The Supersession Chain For The Selected Part

To Check The Supersession Chain For The Selected Part:

  1. Clicking the Check Tick.gif toolbar button actions a check of the parts supersession chain.

Show The Supersession Chain For The Selected Part

To Show The Supersession Chain For The Selected Part:

  1. Clicking the Show FileSearch.gif toolbar button displays the part Supersession chain form.

Produce Supersession reports

To process supersession reports:

  1. Clicking the Show Valuation.gif toolbar button display a list of available reports.

  2. Clicking the required report activates Autoline's report generator function, listing the selected report the assigned printer.

Note: The available supersession reports are defined within Supersession parameters form.
