Retrieving Vehicle Information from UVS-Out

The information received from UVS-Out can be used to create or maintain Autoline vehicles. The retrieval of UVS-Out Vehicle information in Manufacturer systems is also seen as an instant inquiry tool where you can enter any valid chassis number.

Retrieve Vehicle Information from UVS-Out Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Sales > Menu - Vehicle information > Retrieve Vehicle information.

Menu Bar and Toolbar:

Menu bar Toolbar Action
File > Exit Exit.gif Returns to the Mercedes-Benz VeDoc Interface menu.
File > Print Print.gif Prints the UVS-Out request information.

Edit > Select All shortcut_AllCampaigns.gif Selects all valid lines in the list as being available to update the Autoline vehicle.
Edit > Deselect All Deletesurvey.gif De-selects all lines in the list as not being available to update the Autoline vehicle.
Edit > Update Updates the vehicle information in Autoline with the selected UVS-Out lines.

View > View log file postingopts.gif Opens the UVS-Out message logging form where the data of the latest UVS-Out request between Autoline and UVS-Out is displayed.
View > XML file Opens the File Viewer to view the latest XML message received from UVS-Out for the chassis number.

Actions > Request Satellite.gif Retrieves the UVS-Out vehicle information and stores the information in the archive.
Actions > CO2 Enquiry - Displays the CO2-Label enquiry of the selected vehicle in a web browser.
This option is available for the Country Nation GERMANY.

Tools > Mapping tables Opens the UVS-Out Mapping tables form.
Tools > Parameters Opens the form containing the Vehicle Information Interface Parameters.

Help > Help Help2.gif Displays this help topic in a web browser.
Help > About Displays version and copyright information.

Fields:

Franchise code: Displays the franchise code of the concerning vehicle in Autoline.

Model: Displays the model code of the concerning vehicle in Autoline.

Variant: Displays a specific listing of variants within the chosen model.

Chassis number: Indicates the chassis number of the concerning vehicle.

The Franchise code, Model and Variant fields are blank in Manufacturer systems, because no specific vehicle is selected in Autoline before opening the Retrieve Vehicle Information from UVS-Out form.

Grid:

UVS-Out Code: Defines the UVS-Out code regarding the vehicle data for the chosen chassis number.

Vehicle information data in UVS-Out: Defines the Vehicle data retrieved from UVS-Out.

3rd Column: Depending on the module and edit mode of the vehicle record you can select or deselect records for updating in Autoline, by clicking the concerning line.

4th Column Depending on the module this column displays the vehicle record information which exist on the chosen vehicle record in Autoline.

Via the arrow-kyes it is possible to navigate to a line and by pressing the space-bar the line can be selected or deselected.

Note: You cannot update the lines that contain grey characters or the Vehicle data that contains the same values in UVS-Out and Autoline.

Update Autoline with UVS-Out Vehicle Information

  1. Select Edit > Update from the toolbar to update the Autoline vehicle with the vehicle information received from UVS-Out.

Archived UVS-Out request

  1. Select Actions > Request Satellite.gif from the toolbar, records the already received UVS-Out vehicle information into the archive directory. Retrieving UVS-Out information for the same chassis number, will load the archived directory and not from the UVS-Out interface.

Note: The archive process saves the already retrieved UVS-Out information for more future / more efficient information retrieval of UVS-Out information about the selected vehicle.

Print UVS-Out Info

  1. Select File > Print Print.gif from the toolbar to print the UVS-Out information.

Note: The format setup in field Print format program name in Vehicle Information Interface Parameters is used to print the UVS-Out information.

View logging

  1. Select View > View log file postingopts.gif from the toolbar to display the last UVS-Out request which was logged for the user.

  2. Note: Only one UVS-Out request is stored per user. The last UVS-Out request will overwrite the previous stored request.
