Selection of the Accidents option from the Maintenance Control Main Menu or the
icon from the Toolbar opens the Accident Maintenance screen.
Alternatively, this screen is also logically accessible via the Accident Management option from within the Relief Hire Vehicle Details screen.
This screen enables the creation and subsequent administration of existing accident records for a selected vehicle. This process allows monitoring of accident progress through the creation of a number of separate records which, when collated, form the accident record. The separate records enable recording of the accident detail itself, third party details, third party insurance details, as many estimates as required as well as a simple diary system to remind the maintenance controller to follow-up repairs.
This screen is split into six parts that are as follows:
In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of other useful identification criteria and buttons.
The content of the Accident Maintenance menu bar is as follows:
Save
Saves any data amendments and returns to the Maintenance Control screen.
Delete
Deletes the current accident record.
Exit
Exits to the Maintenance Control screen. If any data changes have been made the system prompts "Do you want to save changes to this accident record?". Select the Yes, No or Cancel command button as appropriate.
Provides online access to a context sensitive Help screen.
The content of the Accident Maintenance toolbar is as follows:

The Accident Maintenance Dialogue Box contains several data fields relevant to the accident record. These are as follows:
The registration number of the currently selected vehicle. This field cannot be edited.
The agreement number to which the currently selected vehicle is attached. This field cannot be edited.
The Accident Grid displays a row for all existing accident records held against the currently selected vehicle. Each row contains the following data columns:
A unique sequential system generated accident number. The next accident number to be used is allocated centrally (when the record is saved) from the System Controls module via the Next Accident Number field. This field cannot be edited.
The driver of the vehicle when the accident occurred.
The date the accident occurred.
The time the accident occurred (Entered in a 24 hour clock format).
A single-left-click on an existing accident record row enables the five Tabs allowing subsequent entry of accident information.
A single-left-click on the blank row at the bottom of the accident grid opens up the New Accident Record screen for entry of a new accident against the currently selected vehicle.
A series of five tabs which become enabled following selection of one of the existing accident records within the Accident Grid. These Tabs allow further accident details to be entered against an existing accident record. The five Tabs are as follows:
A single-left-click into an existing row in any of the five tabs displays the relevant form for the review or editing of the existing accident data.
A single-left-click into the blank row in any of the five tabs displays the relevant form for entry of the required accident data.
