Linked Jobs Maintenance

If you regularly perform additional work each time you load a menu in Point-of-Sale, it is possible to link the job to the menu. Each time you load a menu in POS, the system will prompt you to select any linked jobs that you want to carry out.

What do you want to do?

  1. Add a linked job to a menu

  2. Amend a linked job on a menu

  3. Delete a linked job from a menu

Linked Jobs Form

The Linked jobs form is displayed when you click the Create or Amend buttons on the Linked jobs tab of the Menu Pricing Maintenance form. Within this form you can add and maintain linked jobs associated with a menu.

Model code: The vehicle model code.

All models: Select this field to make the linked job available to all models.

Type: The labour type:

  1. RTS
  2. Menu code

Linked menu: The RTS or Menu code linked to the menu.

PUSH BUTTONS:

OK: Creates or saves the record.

Cancel: Cancels any amendments to the record.

Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.


Adding a Linked Job to a Menu

To add a linked job to a menu:

  1. From the OPERATIONS menu, select the Menu pricing menu option.

    The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Menu pricing maintenance option.

    If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.

  3. Select the SO company.

    The Menu Pricing Maintenance form is displayed.

  4. In the Menucode field, enter the code of the menu that you want to amend.

    Tip: Click the Ellipsis button [...] to search for a menu.

    The menu is defaulted into the form.

  5. Click the Amend button.

  6. Display the Linked jobs tab.

  7. Click the Create button.

    The Linked jobs form is displayed.

  8. Complete the Linked jobs form and click OK.

    The linked job is created.

  9. Click the Save button.

    You will get one of the following two results:

    1. If you are amending a dealer menu, the system saves the changes to the menu.

    2. If you are amending a manufacturer's menu, a warning is displayed:

      Your amendments will be lost during the next data update unless you convert this to a user menu. Would you like to convert this to a dealer menu?

  10. Do one of the following:

    1. Click the Yes button to convert the menu to a a dealer menu.

    2. Click the No button if you want to save the changes to the manufacturer's menu.


Amending a Linked Job on a Menu

To amend a linked job on a menu:

  1. From the OPERATIONS menu, select the Menu pricing menu option.

    The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Menu pricing maintenance option.

    If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.

  3. Select the SO company.

    The Menu Pricing Maintenance form is displayed.

  4. In the Menucode field, enter the code of the menu that you want to amend.

    Tip: Click the Ellipsis button [...] to search for a menu.

    The menu is defaulted into the form.

  5. Click the Amend button.

  6. Display the Linked jobs tab.

  7. Select the item that you want to amend.

  8. Click the Amend button.

    The Linked jobs form is displayed.

  9. Amend the item as necessary and click OK.

    The system applies the changes to the linked job.

  10. Click the Save button.

    You will get one of the following two results:

    1. If you are amending a dealer menu, the system saves the changes to the menu.

    2. If you are amending a manufacturer's menu, a warning is displayed:

      Your amendments will be lost during the next data update unless you convert this to a user menu. Would you like to convert this to a dealer menu?

  11. Do one of the following:

    1. Click the Yes button to convert the menu to a a dealer menu.

    2. Click the No button if you want to save the changes to the manufacturer's menu.


Deleting a Linked Job from a Menu

To delete a linked job from a menu:

  1. From the OPERATIONS menu, select the Menu pricing menu option.

    The Menu pricing maintenance menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Menu pricing maintenance option.

    If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) company, the system prompts you for the SO company.

  3. Select the SO company.

    The Menu Pricing Maintenance form is displayed.

  4. In the Menucode field, enter the code of the menu that you want to amend.

    Tip: Click the Ellipsis button [...] to search for a menu.

    The menu is defaulted into the form.

  5. Click the Amend button.

  6. Display the Linked jobs tab.

  7. Select the item that you want to delete.

  8. Click the Delete button.

    The following message is displayed:

    Are you sure you want to delete the selected linked job?

  9. Click the Yes button.

    The linked job is deleted.

  10. Click the Save button.

    You will get one of the following two results:

    1. If you are amending a dealer menu, the system saves the changes to the menu.

    2. If you are amending a manufacturer's menu, a warning is displayed:

      Your amendments will be lost during the next data update unless you convert this to a user menu. Would you like to convert this to a dealer menu?

  11. Do one of the following:

    1. Click the Yes button to convert the menu to a a dealer menu.

    2. Click the No button if you want to save the changes to the manufacturer's menu.
