If parts are found in the wrong bin or with no bin location at all, enter the part number with quantity onto a rough sheet for verification, and subsequent processing by the stock check controller.
If the parts are found in the wrong bin, or outside of any bin location at all, you should check to see if the item is present on the stock file.
If the part is not found in the stock file, it should be created manually using stock file maintenance, with an average cost as can best be determined using the information to hand and the current manufacturer's price file. The quantity on-hand should be left as zero because this is updated when the rough sheets are input and when those rough sheets are merged with the stock count.
If the part is on-file, firstly check if the bin has been counted and entered. If the item has been entered via the Input stock count option, re-enter the new TOTAL quantity found using the direct input method. If the correct bin has not yet been counted, put the item found into the correct bin. In this case the part number should be removed from the rough sheet.
Note: Refer to the topic Printing Extra Rough Sheets before proceeding with the rough sheet input.
Warning: Serial and batch parts must be corrected using the normal aftersales processes. Entry of serial and batch parts is prevented.
