This topic summarizes the options available on the AR Reports and Enquiries Menu.
The features that the Reports and enquiries menu provide are of three main kinds. These are the facilities of the Report generator sub-system, those of the Ad-hoc enquiries option, and those of the pre-set reports. The pre-set reports will be discussed in this topic.
Note: The usual pre-set reports are described in this topic, but the flexibility of configuration set in Rev. 8 may result in your system having extra pre-set options in the menu.
The reporting and enquiry options enable you to print out or display information that has been entered previously to the Asset Register module. The options, located on the AR Reports & Enquiries Menu, are as follows:
List of Assets by Class: Use this option to print out from the Register general information on all or unsold assets.
List of Assets by Cost Centre: As per List of Assets by Class, except this option produces the report in Cost Centre sequence.
Opening balances: Use this option to report on the financial position of assets, as they stood at the beginning of the current financial year.
Disposals report: Use this option to print out information on assets that have been sold since the start of the current financial year.
Additions report: Use this option to print out information on assets that have been acquired at any time since the Register was formed.
Asset transfers: Use this option to print out information on assets that have been moved between Classes at any time since the start of the current financial year.
Family tree: Use this option to display on screen details of asset splits which have been performed at any time since the start of the current financial year.
The facilities of the Report Generator sub-system are common to all Autoline software applications. These facilities allow you to create your own reports from any combination of the fields on your records.
Any combination of system-generated or derived [created by the user] fields can be used to provide detailed information in reports which you yourself design. Instead of being forced to depend on a few standard reports you can select the ones that meet your individual day to day requirements. Alternatively, you can create special reports that will solve particular problems as they arise. For further information on the Report Generator refer to the Report Generator manual.
Use the Reports and Enquiries Menu to access the information you require from your Asset Register. Both printed reports and screen displays are available. This Menu includes the standard disposal and transfer reports as well as asset lists.
The Ad-hoc enquiry and Report Generator features are provided to allow the production of reports that are not standard, but specific to your own particular requirements. Training on these options is recommended so that you can get the maximum flexibility from your Autoline system.
