Note: If Autoline reports a transaction at Error status, telephone, using the number you have for the Dealer Assistance Centre (DAC):
DAC@net.opel.com
and report the error. If a transaction is left at Pending status for a long time - that is, longer than 35 minutes, please contact Autoline Support.
The Autoline Exchange daemon should be running throughout the day. If it is not running, data will not be transferred to, or collected from, the Aftersales server.
Note: GM.MS.exlog file size maintenance is controlled by the Exchange Daemon. If any of the data tables requires attention, ensure the daemon is stopped and users do not access the tables unless in the Management interface.
Enter the GM Exchange 1.1 menu option on the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu.
Entering the interface for the first time will create all the necessary tables.
Update the GM Exchange parameters from the Tools menu on the GM Exchange Transmissions and Receipts Form. Set the test flag to Y.
Set the Client Code Page by selecting Tools > Set Client Code Page on the menu bar of the GM Exchange Transmissions and Receipts Form.
Warning: Do not edit the code page parameter manually unless you are sure you know what it should be. Use with extreme caution!
Complete the Dealer Branch Mapping.
Note: This can be used to map the GM dealer code for one Aftersales company to another that operates as a satellite dealer.
A record should be created for each company that will be using GM Exchange.
Authorised transactions: From within the Management interface, send an authorisation request. (Select Tools > Send Authorisation Request on the menu bar of the GM Exchange Transmissions and Receipts Form.) Using the Run daemon in foreground option, collect files from the Aftersales server (this should include the Authorisation response). The daemon will populate the GM.MS.exseq table with the allowed transaction types for the GM dealer code. Check this file has been populated with the expected transactions.
Check the generic daemon parameter record and the GMEXD ID code.
Set up an MS daemon entry in Timed Operations (00KMN017) to start the Exchange daemon each morning. Payloads are generally available after 6 a.m.
Set the GM Base package parameter for GM exchange in use? to Y.
Test the installation using a parts locator submission: With the daemon running, generate a part locator extract and submit it. An entry should be displayed immediately in the Transmission Logs grid on the GM Exchange Transmissions and Receipts Form; after 5-6 minutes, an answer back should have been generated and processed by the daemon. Using the management interface, check the status of the parts locator transmission. If it is successful, all is well; if an error message is returned, consult Troubleshooting.
Set the test flag to N.
