Gradually the file that the service notifications are stored in will fill up. The Purge option is used to delete service notifications that are finished with, and that are more than 90 days old. Only submitted or omitted records are deleted. The default of 90 days is set up in the parameters and controls (Service purge days) but can be altered if necessary.
Note: If a WIP is held open for any reason at the time you select the Purge option, the WIP will reappear in the list of service work the next time you use the Auto-create option to create notifications.
To purge service notifications:
The system prompts you for the Point-of-Sale (SO) company.
The Volvo Service Notification form is displayed.
A message box is displayed with the following message:
All notifications submitted prior to [date] will be purged.
The records are removed from the system and you are returned to the Volvo Service Notification form.
