The VOLVO UK OPERATIONS menu is displayed when you select the Manufacturer systems option and Volvo company on the Autoline Master menu.
Whether or not a particular menu option is displayed is determined by the following considerations:
Access permissions (called priorities)
The setup of your system
The relevance of the menu option to your market
Each menu option is assigned a priority when the program is installed. Your administrator assigns each user a priority. Any menu option whose priority is higher than your own is omitted from the menu. Equally, you may not see a particular menu option because the menu is set up differently from that described in the help. If you think you need access to a menu option described in this help but it does not appear in the actual menu, check with your Administrator.
DSP: The Dealer Stocking Package (DSP) is Volvo's central parts ordering system. This option enables you to update the Autoline Purchase Control module with order and advice note data supplied by Volvo. The Ready-for-Shipment facility informs Volvo of parts that will be required in the future as cars are booked in for work.
Parts price file menu: Enables you to upload, and maintain, master price- and supersession files; update the stock file from the price file, and build a supersession chain from the Master price file.
Service notifications: Enables you to create, and maintain, service notification records, and to download them from the Autoline system ready for transfer to Volvo via the Transmit files option.
Vehicle load: Enables you to update the Autoline marketing database with data supplied by Volvo.
General utilities: Gives you access to the standard, MS Utilities.
Warranty: Enables you to create and maintain claim records, and download them from the Autoline system ready for transfer to Volvo via the Transmit files option.
Transmit files: Enables you to transmit service notification, warranty claim and stock order files to Volvo.
Accounts composite menu: Generates and electronically transfers the monthly composite file to Alison Associates.
GPSS: Enables you to do the following: set up and maintain your menu-pricing software; upload and convert GPSS data; display and print menus; create and maintain dealer-specific menus, fixed prices and discounts; make additional items available to menus; view file usage statistics.
VSTG: An integral part of the Point-of-Sale Menu Pricing system, this option enables you to create estimates, job cards and invoices. It provides a direct way of loading regularly performed jobs onto a Work-in-Progress (WIP) record.
Franchise data import menu: Enables you to import Franchise Data files received from manufacturers.
Surcharge returns menu: Displays the Surcharge Returns Tracking Menu.
VIDA: This is an electronic parts catalogue (EPC) that shows price and stock information for parts. You can also add parts to shopping lists, which you can save on the EPC server and transfer to the DMS (Dealer Management System).
Recall Campaigns: Displays the Recall Campaigns menu. This allows you to do the following: Carry out campaign maintenance; set up the default parameters; import and convert the service recall file (Volvo Recalls Data) for use in Outstanding Recall Campaigns: Loading in POS. (A file supplied daily by Volvo holds all vehicles having an outstanding Recall Campaign. Interfaces for Point of Sale alert you to a campaign outstanding on the selected vehicle if applicable.)
New/Used vehicle sales extract: Enables you to run the extract for a selected date range and automatically transfer the extract file to Volvo.
Prospect Activity Reporting: Enables Volvo to analyse vehicle sales activity in the Volvo National Sales Company, and to provide assistance to dealers where sales process improvements can be made.
