MBKS Import

The MBKS / VKL Import parameters are used in the MBKS Interface program and VKL Interface program, which makes it possible to import an MBKS order file in Showroom or VSB.

The VKL program is only available in Germany and configures passenger cars, the MBKS program is available outside Germany and configures commercial vehicles.

Import a MBKS - XML Offer

MBKS Import Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to Sales > + MBKS Import parameters > [no. Company name] on the Project parameters browser. It defines the settings for the MBKS interfaces.

MBKS-import Tab

MBKS - offer input file:

Directory for MBKS: Enter the default location where the import file is stored. This location is only used if MBKS or VKL is not installed on the client computer.

General MBKS / VKL parameters:

Create unknown options: Select to import also options from MBKS, which are not in the Franchise data tables of Autoline. When in the VKL file no option description is delivered, it will result in the mapping to the right option of Autoline and Unknown option text in the description. In the GIOVE-interface file are no prices delivered, thus these options are created with price 0.

Import type: Select from the list the required interface.

N - Not available: This import function is not available for the user.

S - Showroom : Activates only the MBKS interface with Showroom.

V - Vehicle Stockbooks: Activates the MKS or VKL interface within VSB only.

A - Showroom Asia: Activates only the MBKS interface with Showroom Asia.

B - Showroom/Vehicle Stockbooks: Activates the interfaces within VSB and only the MBKS interface in Showroom. Thus, the VKL and GIOVE interfaces are not activated in Showroom.

Valid franchise letters for import: Enter the franchises for which the import facility in VSB (new vehicles) is activated. The single letter franchise code from the Franchise Data Company is required here. You can type multiple franchise codes in a row without a separator.

Note: Before you can export files from Autoline, the KDIP.ini file needs to be modified or created. The consultant who is setting up the system should do this. If you have any problems with the import of data in MBKS, contact an Autoline consultant.

Option code format: Select the option code format from the list. The format is used to create the options on the vehicle record. The MBKS or VKL interface will try to find the option in the franchise data according to the option cod format that is set here. Option type M is used in the MDPLUS franchise data import on 8.30.

Lotus Notus communication type: Select the communication type that is used to retrieve the XML import files from the Lotus Notes server.

MBKS-locations Tab

MBKS Locations Grid:

Location name: Enter the location name of the MBKS file.

Path: Enter the path where the MBKS file is stored.

Note: The MBKS locations tab is used to make a quick selection of MBKS files within VSB and is only available for the Netherlands. These locations are not company depended, please consult the related user documentation for further details.

Option Mapping Tab

When importing vehicle-orders from the German VKL2 system, some xml-tags require a mapping to specific vehicle-options. Each mapping should result into a vehicle-specification line.

Available Mapped Franchises Grid:

The first column displays if a row is selected with an arrow icon.

Franchise: Displays the model franchise code.

Description: Displays the description of the franchise.

Available Mapped Franchises - Option Mapping Tab Buttons:

Delete franchise: Deletes the corresponding franchise and refreshes the grid

Add franchise: Opens the Select franchise form to select a franchise and refreshes the grid.

Mapping found for [Franchise] Grid:

Displays the content of the XML-tag which is mapped to a vehicle-specification line.

XML-tag: Displays the XML-tag content for this mapping.

Option type: Displays the selected option type used for this mapping.

Option code: Displays the mapped option code.

Value mapping: Displays the value in which the XML-tag content is mapped.

Mapping found for [Franchise] - Option Mapping Tab Buttons:

Delete: Opens the VKL2 XML-Tag Mapping Maintenance form to delete the corresponding record and refreshes the grid.

Add: Opens the VKL2 XML-Tag Mapping Maintenance form to complete the details for mapping the content of the XML-tag to the vehicle-specification line and refreshes the grid.

Change: Opens the VKL2 XML-Tag Mapping Maintenance form to change the corresponding record and refreshes the grid.

MBKS - XML Tab

MBKS Quote Import into Showroom Company: [SR Company]

Active: Select to activate the MBKS - XML Import functionality for the selected SR Company.

Franchise selection: Franchises available for the MBKS XML Import. If no franchises selected, the functionality will be active for all franchises.

Default MBKS - XML location: Path on local PC where the MBKS - XML Import files are located.

Tip: A Mercedes-Benz option type mapping should exist for all options imported (except Colors) in Franchise Data Parameters. Option types with no mapping will not be imported (except tires).

Import a MBKS - XML Offer

To import a MBKS - XML offer:

  1. Select from the main menu Showroom > [company] > Quotations.

    The Showroom Customer Enquiries form is displayed.

  2. Click the Quote Import menu icon.

    The Mercedes-Benz Quote Import - System selection form is displayed.

  3. Click the MBKS - XML menu icon to use the functionality.

    The file selection dialog form is displayed.

    Note: The default path is as per the Default MBKS - XML location parameter set up on the MBKS - XML tab in MBKS Import parameters.

  4. Select the file to be imported and click the open button.

  5. The MBKS XML import will search for a Franchise, Model and Variant combination that match the code in the XML file.

    Tip: If multiple or no match is found,the Select variant record form is displayed to select the correct combination of franchise/model/variant to use for the quote.

    The variant is added to the quote and the process will continue.

    Note: When doing a MBKS-XML import, the offer id from the XML file is saved on the showroom offer as the order reference.

  6. The system will check if another showroom offer has been created with the same offer id.
    If other showroom offers were found with the same offer id as on the XML import file, the Multiple Offers Found form is displayed.
    On the Multiple Offers Found form do one of the following (a or b):

    1. To update an existing offer:

      • Click on the offer in the grid to be updated.
      • Select Offer > Update offer from the menu bar.
      • The Showroom Enquiries - Recalling a Quotation form is displayed.
      • Select Change the quote or Amend it option.

        Tip: If there are any differences between the old offer and the new offer the Vehicle Specification Comparison form will be displayed. The user may choose to accept or ignore the offer.

      • Continue with the normal quote process.

    2. To create a new offer:

  7. The MBKS XML import will match the customer number on the import file to an existing Autoline customer.

    Tip: If no match is found and the customer name and/or surname is found on the import file, the customer search screen is displayed to search for the correct customer to use.

    The customer details are updated on the quote and the process will continue.

  8. The Showroom Summary screen of the Showroom Enquiries form is displayed.

  9. Continue with the normal quote process.

Note: By default all option on the quote will be replaced by the imported options. Except if there are no franchise data mapping for the Dealer options, all existing dealer options on the quote will be preserved.

VKL2 XML-Tag Mapping Maintenance Form

Fields:

Model franchise: Displays the selected franchise in the Available Mapped Franchises grid.

XML-tag content: Enter the XML-tag content.

Mapped to optioncode: Enter the option code required to map the XML-tag to.

Type of option-code: Select the option type used for the mapping.

D: Dealer fitted

F: Factory fitted

T: Text line to insert

Map XML-tag content into: Select the value in which the XML-tag content is mapped.

A: Actual costs

D: Discount

E: Estimated costs

I: Invoice value

N: Product notes
