Selection of the System Maintenance option from the Movement Control Main Menu displays the System Maintenance Menu. This gives access to a number of sub-menus normally only accessed by the System Manager who has responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the database.
This screen is split into five parts, which are as follows:
In addition to displaying the screen name and company the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
This Broadcast Box is used by the System Administrator to broadcast system messages.
Located beneath and to the left of the Broadcast Box, this is a Menu listing the entire screen and sub-menu options available (dependent upon User Priority Levels). Options currently available are as follows:
Located beneath and to the right of the Broadcast Box, is a selection of Command Buttons:
Confirms the selected menu option
Exits the current screen and returns to the previous screen or menu
Provides online context sensitive help information to the user
This option is currently unavailable within the Fleet System. Originally developed for Autoline, it enables the system to be viewed as either a GUI (Graphical User Interface) or Text-based application. This is a check box that is turned on/off. When the check box is empty the option is "off". Click on the check box (or use the Spacebar) to select or deselect.
On selection a Tab Menu is displayed prompting further selection from a list of utilities. The number of options available in the menu is dependent upon the User Priority Level.
In addition to containing useful tools applicable to the log-in of a particular user, the Administrator contains the following useful functions:
The Electronic Mail system can be linked to a Fax system and to the Internet and also works with Kmail if required.
Individual users may be given different permissions so that they have access to selected options only.
This box displays the default printer and also provides a Change Command Button that displays a list of alternative printers from which to select.
