GM Vehicle Data Extract delivers a DMS report that provides, for all new vehicle sales, for a certain period that can be defined by users, information about vehicle, customer and customer consent, for each vehicle sold record. The information can be sent to GM using the SADE extract routines.
To run an extract:
From the GENERAL M0TORS OPERATIONS MENU select the New vehicle data extract option and a Vehicle Stockbook company if you are prompted for one.
The GM New vehicle data extract capture form is displayed.
On the Export tab, click the Export button, followed by Continue.
You are prompted for the dealer code that you want to create the extract for.
Select the required dealer code by clicking the drop-down button and click OK.
Note: If a dealer code is not displayed in the drop-down list, check that it is set up in the dealer parameters.
In the case of a data-protected customer, you are prompted about how to deal with the customer information. Click Mask export to send a mask (X) in place of customer information or click Do not export to include no customer information in the extract.
If no records are found, a There are no records which match the criteria message is displayed. If there are valid records, the extract is run and an Extract complete message is displayed.
Click OK.
The name of the file created locally is displayed in the Files text box on the View tab, and can be displayed by clicking the View button.
This form is displayed when you select the New vehicle data extract option from the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu. It enables you to configure and run the GM Vehicle Data Extract system.

Date Range:
From: First day of the date range for data export, selectable by clicking an Ellipsis button.
To: Last day of the date range for data export, selectable by clicking an Ellipsis button.
Tip: By default the From and To dates are the first and last day of the previous month.
Progress
The bars in the Progress box give a visual indication of the amount of the data export completed as a proportion of the whole.
Button:
Export: Starts the data export.
Files:
The text box contains a list of export files.
Button:
View: Displays the file whose name is highlighted in the box, with the option of printing it.
History:
Last run date: Date when the extract was last run.
Last userid: ID of the user who last ran the extract.
Instance: Self-incrementing number that increases by one every time the extract is run.

Logfile: Displays information about the last data extract performed, as follows:
Type: Which GDX type was run
Description: Basic description of the extract
Filename: Local name for the extract file
Export date range: To and from date for the extract
Client name: Which machine the extract was run from
User ID: Which user created the extract
PID: Processer ID while the extract ran
Export started: Date and time when the extract started
Source file: Name and location of the extract file created locally
Destination file: Name and location where the extract was transferred to
Transfer summary: Message to indicate whether the transfer was successful
Extract summary: Message to indicate whether the extract was successful
Extract outcome: Whether the extract was successful or not
Extract finished: Date and time when the extract finished
Tip: If the extract fails to run normally, the logfile's Status line provides an explanatory message.
