GM SADE

SADE stands for Single Aftersales Data Extract. It is a program that stores data from Point-of-Sale invoices and credit notes and at the end of each day builds an extract and transmits it to GM. Customer details are sent with the next extraction when it has been changed in the DMS, even if there was no invoice being raised for this customer that day.

Note: Every time an invoice is raised in Point-of-Sale it is recorded in the SADE log files. The logging of invoices and the extract of the data are both automated so that you have little or no involvement in the normal day-to-day processes except to monitor and update certain information as required.

SADE requires one timed operation to be created at installation.

First ensure that the Point-of-Sale Daemon is running. This will ensure that the details created by the wip are added to the MS Generic POS transactions log. If the daemon monitor for the current Point-of-Sale company is not running you must start the daemon.

Monitoring GM Exchange and Retransmitting an Extract

GM Exchange is used by SADE to send the extracts to GM. Normally extracts are straightforward, but if the connection between The GM server and GM is offline, then an error is recorded.

Note: The file is unlikely to appear in the Exchange list immediately because SADE files need to be processed and can only be sent at off-peak times. The off-peak times are: 1800-2359 during the week and 0000-2359 at weekends.

To retransmit an extract:

  1. After an extract fails, note the date and time, then open the SADE interface and select the appropriate extract by clicking the line in the grid.

The Re-transmit toolbar button EmailForward.gif is made available.

  2. Click the Re-transmit button.

The file is resent to GM Exchange.
