Skills

The main functions of the skill records is to record skills required by job code and for them to be used at the pre-interview data matching stage with applicant achievements.

To access the Skills:-

There are three methods :-

Human resource record, Tools, Lookup tables, Job Codes access is as follows:-
  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Human Resources option and Company you require.

    The Human Resources Password form is displayed.

  2. Enter your human resource password.

    The HUMAN RESOURCES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Human Resources option.

    The Human Resources record is displayed.

  4. Once a human resource record is selected or initially chosen for creation select the Tools option.

  5. Select the Lookup tables option.

  6. Select the Job Codes option.

    The Job Codes form is displayed.

  7. Select a job code by clicking in one of the columns.

  8. Select the Edit Skills button.

  9. The Skills form is displayed.

Vacancy record, Tools, Job Codes access is as follows:-
  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Human Resources option and Company you require.

    The Human Resources Password form is displayed.

  2. Enter your human resource password.

    The HUMAN RESOURCES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Recruitment processing option.

    The RECRUITMENT PROCESSING menu is displayed.

  4. Select the Vacancy records option.

  5. The Vacancy record is displayed.

  6. Once a vacancy record is selected or initially chosen for creation select the Tools option.

  7. Select the Job Codes option.

    The Job Codes form is displayed.

  8. Select a job code by clicking in one of the columns.

  9. Select the Edit Skills button.

  10. The Skills form is displayed.

Applicant record, Tools, Job Codes access is as follows:-
  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Human Resources option and Company you require.

    The Human Resources Password form is displayed.

  2. Enter your human resource password.

    The HUMAN RESOURCES menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Recruitment processing option.

    The RECRUITMENT PROCESSING menu is displayed.

  4. Select the Applicant records option.

  5. The Applicant record is displayed.

  6. Once an applicant record is selected or initially chosen for creation select the Tools option.

  7. Select the Job Codes option.

    The Job Codes form is displayed.

  8. Select a job code by clicking in one of the columns.

  9. Select the Edit Skills button.

  10. The Skills form is displayed.


Skills Form

The Skills form is displayed when the Edit Skills option is selected from the Human Resource Record, Tools, Lookup files menu, Job Codes or when the Edit Skills option is selected from the Vacancy Record, Tools, Job Codes. or when the Edit Skills option is selected from the Applicant Record, Tools, Job Codes.

Standard functionality exists that allows you to create and maintain records.

The data can be maintained further by using the Insert row, Delete row and Add row ICONs.

Employee Group: The two character code from the job code record. This cannot be amended.

Job Code: The four character code from the job record. This cannot be amended.

Achievement type: Click the relevant radio button from the three available options:-

Achievement category: Two character code for an achievement linked to the achievement type.

Tip : Click on the Drop down DropDown to select.

Achievement: Two character code of the achievement linked to the achievement type and category.

Grade: The grade required.

Tip : Click on the Drop down DropDown to select from the grades available on the achievement category.

Mandatory: Tick if the skill is mandatory for the job code. Mandatory skills missing on applicants will be highlighted on the pre-interviewing matching process.

Weight: A weighting applied to the skill between 0 and 100%, mandatory skills automatically default in 100%. This is used on the pre-interview skill matching process within the recruitment system. Example, GCSE English and Maths have a 100% weighting, GCSE Car Mechanics has 50%, total weight for the % score is based on 2.5 points. An applicant with the required grade for English and Maths but not for Car Mechanics thus scores 2/2.5 = 80%
